Exciting News from Plant Parts!
We’re thrilled to announce that something big is arriving at our Suffolk headquarters this Spring — a state-of-the-art hydraulic motor testing facility that we believe is truly one of a kind in Europe.
We call it The Rig, and it’s set to transform the way we test, repair, and validate hydraulic motors. Designed from the ground up for swing drives and final drives, this facility brings precision, reliability, and confidence to a whole new level — for our team and for our customers worldwide.

Why This Matters
For over 30 years, Plant Parts has been helping customers keep construction machinery moving, with parts and repairs spanning more than 150 machinery brands. Now, we’re taking that commitment further.
With The Rig, every repaired hydraulic motor can be tested under real-world conditions. That means:
- Accurate performance verification against OEM standards
- Individual load testing for each motor
- Energy-efficient, regenerative testing
- Automated operation designed for single-operator use
This isn’t just another piece of workshop equipment — it’s a purpose-built solution that bridges our repair and parts operations, ensuring that every motor leaving our workshop meets the highest standard of reliability.
A Natural Step Forward
Since 2008, our workshop has specialised in hydrostatic diagnostics, repair, and reconditioning andThe Rig is a logical progression from that work. It builds on decades of expertise, helping us analyse performance more thoroughly, repair components more precisely, and ultimately deliver motors our customers can trust.
It also strengthens our international capabilities: components arrive from across the globe, and with our EU Inward Processing Authorisation and free UK collection, we’re equipped to test, repair, and return equipment wherever it’s needed and this new investment takes that offering to a whole new level!
A Game-Changing Investment
This £1 million project represents the largest single investment in our 30-plus-year history. It reflects the increasing technical demands of heavy machinery and the growing need for data-driven, accountable repair.
As Dave Finch, our Business Development Manager, puts it:
“Our goal was to create a facility that gives real value — not just in what we can do technically, but in the confidence it gives our customers. The accuracy and insight The Rig provides marks a step change in aftermarket testing.”

Looking Ahead
Once fully operational, The Rig will be available to customers, partners, and dealers alike. We’ll be sharing updates, technical insights, and behind-the-scenes videos as commissioning progresses.
For anyone working in sectors where downtime is costly — mining, demolition, quarrying, heavy civil engineering, waste management — The Rig is a promise of reliability and precision.
