When should I change the oil in my final drive?
- We recommend you change the oil every 250-500 hours or at least once a year depending on usage
How do I fix a leaking excavator swing drive?
- The most common place for an excavator swing motor leak is just above the output pinion, where the shaft disappears up into the gearbox in larger excavators or the motor assembly in smaller machines.
What is causing my final drive to fail?
Final drive problems can often be the symptom of a fault elsewhere on the machine, here are some things to look out for:
- Is there sufficient oil in the hydraulic oil tank?
- Does the engine run at full speed?
- Are the tracks too tight?
- Is the machine stuck in highspeed mode?
- Are the tracks, track rollers and idlers in good condition?
- Is the machine delivering the correct oil pressure, and flow, to the hydraulic motor?
- Are there any internal leakages in the swivel joint?
- Is the final drive leaking?
- Is there back pressure, or a blockage in the hydraulic motor case drain line?
How do I know my part is genuine?
- Your part will be sent to you with genuine packaging of some kind whether that’s a plate or just in its original packaging
How do I know when I need a new hydraulic pump for my excavator?
- The pump will start to leak and hydraulic fluid can be visible, you may hear banging and knocking sounds, an increase in temperature, etc
Does a slew ring come with locating pins/dowels?
- Most of the slew rings that we supply come with locating pins
Can you supply just the gear/pilot pump?
- We are able to supply just the pilot pump on the majority of pumps that we offer and some that we don’t
Does the new pump include the coupling?
- This depends on the application of the pump but couplings can be supplied if not included
Does the slew rings come with seals?
- Yes seals are included with our slew rings when applicable
Can you supply the bolts? (slew ring)
- Yes bolt fitting kits are available for all slew rings offered
Can you supply just the internal parts? (pump)
- Many internal pump parts are available for all pumps that we stock and some that we don’t.
Are pumps made in China?
- We do not offer any pumps or pump parts with Chinese origin
