When Great Britian left the EU, it ended the free movement of goods from the UK to EU countries. That means that every single package that crosses the border is strictly checked, requires the correct documents and the customer will have to pay Import Tax and Duty, amounts that vary from country to country. With a large proportion of our customers being in the EU, it was vital we set to work on finding a solution.
Enter DDP! Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) is where the seller (us!) calculates the EU VAT and customs charges when processing your order, and any of these applicable fees are charged to us (the seller!) rather than to you. This will mean you don’t get any extra / unexpected charges and the goods are delivered smoothly – just like anything else you purchase from other EU countries.
If we break that down, it simply means – ZERO import VAT for you to pay, ZERO customs duty for you to pay and ZERO carrier admin fees for you to pay.
As with many of these red tape processes, it has taken some time to get everything set up as DDP requires a very specific infrastructure in place to be able to use it. This is why many UK exporters don’t offer the service, however as with everything we do here are Plant Parts, it’s always important to go the extra mile to get the parts you need delivered to you in minimal time and cost.
